The Tasting Table: Tea Atelier x A Bar Apart

Tea and chocolate have more in common than you'd think. Both start with a single leaf or bean. Both reward a bit of curiosity. And both taste completely different depending on where — and how — they were grown.

This September, we're pulling up a table with A Bar Apart, New Zealand's collective of bean-to-bar chocolate makers, for The Tasting Table — an evening of considered tasting and flavour exploration. A curated line-up of our loose leaf teas, paired thoughtfully with craft chocolate from around Aotearoa, guided by chocolate expert and A Bar Apart founder Luke Owen Smith.

Over the course of the evening, you'll taste your way through eight carefully curated pairings — exploring how flavour, terroir and texture interact in ways that will shift how you think about both tea and chocolate. Some combinations will surprise you, some will feel inevitable in hindsight, and all of them will leave you with new favourites to seek out and savour at home.
