- China
A legendary black tea from the Wuyi mountains of Fujian, where mature Souchong leaves are slowly smoked over Chinese pine roots — a craft believed to be the original method of smoke-drying tea. Larger, riper leaves from the lower part of the bush are chosen to carry the smoke without losing their underlying malty depth.
A robust, characterful cup — a winter favourite for those drawn to bold, evocative teas.
The cup pours a bright amber, releasing the unmistakable aroma of campfire smoke threaded with pine resin, eucalyptus, and a hint of clove. The palate echoes the nose — woody, smoky, and gently spiced — settling into a smooth, lingering finish.
